I have always been a creator. It’s just part of who I am. From composing poetry to cooking intricate meals from scratch, my passion has always been to bring ideas to life. But for the longest time, one medium felt just out of reach: visual art.
I was born legally blind due to damage to my optic nerves. While my vision is clear and in focus, it’s at a lower resolution (about 20/80 with glasses). The real barrier for me, however, has always been the resulting disconnect in my hand-eye coordination. The fine motor skills needed to guide a brush or pencil with precision just weren’t there. It felt like a wall stood between the vivid images in my mind and my ability to put them on a canvas.
That all changed in 2023 when I discovered AI art.
My journey into AI wasn’t born from a grand artistic vision at first, but from a practical need. I had already taught myself affiliate marketing and was running a home decor website since 2017—a way to earn a living from home since I can’t drive. I became curious if AI could help me create unique art for the site. I generated a few interior design concepts, and to my shock, they went viral on Pinterest.
That was the moment the floodgates opened. The question immediately became: “If it can do this, what else is possible?”
From there, I explored other AI frontiers, using the technology to help me overhaul and edit my website, acting as a crucial second set of eyes. My Take:
